PurvX Rental Agreement

Below is our Rental Agreement. This applies to all Rental items booked through the PurvX website, app, and related platforms, unless otherwise specified. The majority of items available for Rent through PurvX are provided and fulfilled by one of our Rental Partners.

Rental Agreement: Your Guide to Renting on PurvX

This Rental Agreement outlines the key terms and conditions for using PurvX to rent items or list your own items for rent. By using PurvX, you agree to be bound by this Agreement and the full Terms of Service (TOS) available on PurvX.

Definitions

  • PurvX: Refers to PurvX Marketplace Inc., the platform facilitating the rental transactions between Rental Partners and Renters.
  • Rental Partner or Owner: Refers to the individual providing items for rent through the PurvX platform.
  • Renter: Refers to the individual renting items through the PurvX platform.
  • Items: Refer to the clothing and ethnic items or Goods available for rent on the PurvX platform.

Parties Involved

  • PurvX: The platform facilitating the rental transactions.
  • Rental Partner/Owner: Individual listing items for rent on PurvX.
  • Renter: Individual renting items through the PurvX platform.

Renting an Item as a RENTER:

Fees:

  • Booking Fee: There is currently no service fee to rent items on PurvX.
  • Cancellation Fee: A cancellation fee of $20 will be charged if you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled pick-up date.
  • Late Return Fee: A late fee of $20 per day will be charged if you do not return the item on the return date.
  • Rental Price & Security Deposit: Rental Partners set their own rental price for the desired rental period and a security deposit. These fees will be displayed clearly on the item listing.

Booking and Payment: You can conveniently book and pay for rentals directly through PurvX using our secure payment gateway. After booking your rental, you will be sent a link to pay the security deposit amount set by the Rental Partner. Please note that your order/booking is not confirmed until the security deposit has been paid. Renters must ensure to pay the deposit as soon as they receive the link.

Order Cancellation: You have the right to cancel your rental order, but a cancellation fee of $20 will be charged if you cancel within 24 hours of your scheduled pick-up date. To cancel your order, you must contact PurvX Support immediately via email.

Rental Period: The rental period includes both the day you pick up the item and the day you return it. Be sure to factor this in when booking your rental. For example, if you book an item from Monday to Thursday, you will be charged for the rental period from Monday to Thursday (inclusive).

Security Deposit: Rental Partners often require a security deposit to hold the item for your rental period. This deposit amount is set by the Rental Partner and will be refunded upon the timely return of the item in good condition (except for normal wear and tear). Normal wear and tear includes minor imperfections from expected use (like slight creasing of clothes).

The security deposit may be withheld for reasons such as:

  • Late return of the item (a late fee of $20 per day will also apply)
  • Damage to the item beyond normal wear and tear (rips, stains, missing parts, strong body odor, or excessive deodorant/perfume stains that cannot be removed through normal cleaning methods)

Item Care: It is important to thoroughly inspect the rented item for any damage upon pickup. If you find any damage, you have the option to refuse the rental and notify PurvX immediately (within 24 hours) to cancel the order and receive a full refund. Otherwise, you must notify PurvX of any pre-existing damage within 24 hours of pickup to avoid unwanted damage claims upon return (similar to renting a car). Do not attempt to clean the item yourself. Rental Partners are responsible for cleaning the item after each rental.

Dispute Resolution: If you have a disagreement with the Rental Partner regarding the condition of the item or other rental-related issues, PurvX will try to mediate a resolution on your behalf. Both parties agree to be bound by the dispute resolution process outlined in the TOS.

Listing an Item for Rent as a RENTAL PARTNER:

Fees:

  • Rental Subscriptions: Rental Partners have the option to choose from various subscription plans that offer different benefits and fee structures. For detailed information on available subscription plans and associated fees, please visit the Rentals page on PurvX.
  • Commission Fees: All listings on PurvX are subject to acommission fee, which is clearly displayed on the PurvX website during the listing process and in the FAQ.

Listing: As a Rental Partner, you are responsible for creating an accurate and detailed listing for your item. This includes information like description, condition, rental rates, security deposit amount, and any special requirements or instructions for renters (e.g., no smoking allowed while using the item).

Item Maintenance: Rental Partners are responsible for ensuring their items are clean and in good working condition before each rental. Typically, dry cleaning or laundering is recommended. Do not include cleaning instructions in your listing.

Security Deposit:

  • Wait for Confirmation: Don't release your item until you receive confirmation from PurvX that the security deposit has been paid by the renter.
  • The security deposit collected from the renter will be refunded to the renter upon the timely return of the item in good condition (except for normal wear and tear).
  • In cases where the security deposit needs to be withheld due to reasons outlined in the Renter section (e.g., late return, damage beyond normal wear and tear), PurvX will mediate the dispute and determine the appropriate allocation of the security deposit (all decisions will be at PurvX's discretion as outlined in the TOS).

Rental Partner Earnings:

  • Rental Service Fee: Rental Partner will receive the total rental booking fee minus the commission fee.
  • Cancellation Fee: If a renter cancels their order within 24 hours of pick-up, the $20 cancellation fee will be split equally between the Rental Partner and PurvX.
  • Late Fee: Any late fees collected from renters due to late returns will also be split equally between the Rental Partner and PurvX.

Dispute Resolution:

If you have a disagreement with a Renter regarding the condition of the item upon return, late fees, or other rental-related issues, PurvX will try to mediate a resolution on your behalf. Both parties agree to be bound by the dispute resolution process outlined in the TOS.

Agreeing to the Terms:

By using PurvX to rent items or list items for rent, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Rental Agreement and the TOS. You agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.
